Job Description

PWI is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to support the Office Manager in managing the company’s accounts receivable function. This role is responsible for invoicing customers, monitoring aging reports, following up on past-due accounts, and maintaining accurate AR records to support healthy cash flow across PWI’s operations.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and send customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively follow up on past-due balances
  • Post customer payments and apply them to the correct invoices/accounts
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short pays, and disputed invoices
  • Maintain organized AR records and respond to customer inquiries regarding balances
  • Communicate regularly with the Office Manager on collection status and problem accounts
  • Process new customer credit applications and coordinate credit approvals
  • Maintain accurate sales tax records and exemption certificates on customer accounts

Character

Education or Experience

  • 1–2 years of accounts receivable, billing, or bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred but not required

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Standard Office Equipment (Computer, Phone, Scanner/Copier
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
  • Experience with Accounting Software/ERP Software (QuickBooks, Microsoft BC, Etc)

Physical Abilities

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and use hands and fingers to handle or free objects.
  • The use of common hand tools and occasionally sharp tools is involved.
  • The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and communicate with other employees both in person and while using a telephone.
  • The employee must be able to move and/or lift objects up to 50 pounds often.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Cognitive and Communication Abilities

  • Able to perform basic math using money, weight, and distance measurements.
  • Able to communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees in both verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or blueprint form.

Location

  • Willing to work on-site at PWI in Nappanee, Indiana

Compensation

$18-$24/HR + regular overtime and annual profit-sharing bonus

7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday through Friday
