Job Description

As an Install & Service Technician at PWI, you will install, service, and maintain equipment at customer sites while supporting safe and efficient project execution. Your role includes performing installations, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring all work is completed to PWI standards. By working hands-on in the field, communicating with customers, and maintaining equipment and documentation, you help deliver reliable solutions and a strong customer experience from installation through ongoing service.

This open position will report to a developing branch in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, service, and maintenance of equipment at customer sites.
  • Read drawings, rig and install components, and complete welding or fabrication as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Document work completed and communicate with customers.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle readiness.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean job sites.

Education or Experience

  • Experience in construction, installation, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting preferred.
  • Experience in steel fabrication or welding preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL preferred.
  • Able to obtain hoist inspector certification.
  • Able to pass background check and MVR requirements.

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret measurements.
  • Ability to use hand tools and operate construction equipment.
  • Basic welding (MIG) experience is a plus.
  • Ability to use tablets and basic computer software for documentation.

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the day.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Cognitive and Communication Abilities

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math and measurements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members.

Location

  • Willing to work on-site in a developed branch location within the Lancaster, Pennsylvania region
  • Willing to attend up to one month of initial training at PWI in Nappanee, Indiana (expenses covered and a minimum of one week of additional training annually.
  • Willing to drive or fly as needed for onsite visits within the provided regions and as assigned.

Compensation

$25-$37/HR + overtime and hourly bonus program. Travel bonuses and per diem may apply.

Hours

6:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday – May vary with customer needs
