Job Description

The IT Technician at PWI provides hands-on technical support to ensure our systems, devices, and users can work efficiently and securely. This role focuses on day-to-day troubleshooting, end-user support, and assisting with core IT infrastructure needs across office and production environments. The IT Technician works independently on routine issues and escalates higher-impact changes or complex matters to the Systems Administrator as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support for computers, software, and IT equipment.
  • Support Windows systems and assist with Active Directory user management.
  • Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues.
  • Deploy, maintain, and track IT hardware and peripherals.
  • Assist with IT projects, documentation, and inventory.

Education or Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in an IT support or technician role
  • Strong experience supporting Windows operating systems
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory
  • Solid understanding of basic networking concepts
  • Experience supporting users in a fast-paced environment

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • CompTIA A+ certification is a plus, but not required

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft-based environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills within Windows OS
  • Comfortable supporting business software and end-user devices

Physical Abilities

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer
  • Occasionally required to lift, carry, or move IT equipment up to 25 lbs
  • May be required to walk through the office and production areas to provide support
  • Vision requirements include close vision for computer work and troubleshooting

Cognitive and Communication Abilities

  • Able to diagnose problems and apply logical troubleshooting steps
  • Able to communicate technical information clearly in verbal and written form
  • Able to follow written, oral, or diagram-based instructions
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests effectively
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or blueprint form.

Location

  • Willing to work on-site at PWI in Nappanee, Indiana
  • Travel is possible on occasion, but rare

Compensation

$60,000 – $75,000 plus annual profit-sharing bonus
