Job Description

At PWI we hold relationships with our customers in the highest regard and as a Sales Account Manager, you will represent PWI within those relationships. You will be in charge of prospecting, qualifying, and closing sales regarding new company business. You will work to satisfy customers’ needs and requests, respond to their queries in a timely manner, and aspire to deliver a positive customer experience. As jobs are sold you will be the primary point of contact to ensure installation and job completion are achieved as promised.

A successful account manager should have excellent communication and relationship-building skills and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers
  • Identify appropriate prospects, set appointments and make effective qualifying sales calls to maintain a pipeline of opportunities sufficient to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Work with the Sales Manager to finalize pricing on all projects
  • Negotiate sales and follow up with the customer, reviewing contracts to ensure alignment with agreed scope, price, and terms
  • Learn and understand PWI estimating standards and procedures
  • Work with the Engineering team to confirm design matches, project scope, and customer needs
  • Manage project installation to ensure PWI standard of excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Team player by working with various departments and employees
  • Knowledge of the structural steel industry including fabrication and erection is a plus
  • Ability to read structural and architectural drawings
  • Knowledge of estimating structural steel and fabrication is a plus
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel

Requirements

Education or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or architecture (preferred)
  • Construction industry sales and/or estimating 1-year minimum.
  • Knowledge of the structural steel industry including fabrication and installation is a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with safe driving history. Must be able to be insured on PWI’s insurance.

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience scheduling with calendars and utilizing a CRM
  • Ability to read structural and architectural drawings (training provided as needed)
  • Knowledge of estimating structural steel and fabrication is a plus
  • Experience utilizing 2D or 3D CAD software is beneficial (training provided as needed)

Physical Abilities

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and use hands and fingers to handle objects.
  • The employee frequently is required to talk, hear, and communicate with other employees both in person and while using a telephone.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Cognitive and Communication Abilities

  • Able to perform basic math using money, weight, and distance measurements.
  • Able to communicate and present information fluently in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees in both verbal and written forms of English.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or blueprint form.

Location

  • Willing to work on-site at PWI in Nappanee, Indiana
  • Position may include travel to worksites by car or plane to visit customers 10% – 20% of the year

Compensation

$65K — $80K
Range is an average wage. Compensation is largely dependent on experience.

Hours

Normal hours are Monday through Friday 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM
